Luis Michael Dörrbecker becomes latest addition to Euroformula Open, as Emilio de Villota Motorsport has just announced its signing for the 2015 Euroformula Open. Dörrbecker, Mexican of German origin – he was born in Gifhorn (Germany)-, is a 22 years old driver with a successful background in go-karts. It should be highlighted that Dörrbecker, whose father was himself a racing driver, won the Super Karts Cup México – ICA Junior and the NACAM Formula Kart Rotax Championship. Recently he joined the Euroformula Open field in Jerez and Barcelona, where two Winter Series events were held.

Emilio de Villota Jr has commented that “his arrival within the team means a step forward, both on a sports and technical level. Our friendship was cultivated four years ago but it is only now we have been able to put a program together. His arrival with Interprotección and entering the Telmex program in 2015 and Luis Michael places himself as a Mexican motorsport reference on the international scene. His presence at Emilio de Villota Motorsport is a nice new for us”.

“We have worked so long and hard on this program… and it is now when everything is set. Our pre-season testing is short in comparison to my rivals. But I feel confident and will set my goals little by little. We will have to make steady improvements and, working with my team, to achieve a podium finish is not out of reach. I would like to thank my sponsors for their support and the trust placed in me. This season is going to be a key one for my future in motorsport” Dörrbecker explains.

Dörrbecker will team up with Yu Kanamaru and José Manuel Vilalta at Emilio de Villota Motorsport.

22-24 cars are expected for Euroformula Open opener in Jerez.
