It was an intense day of work at the Paul Ricard for a number of GT Open teams participating in the Winter Series testing today, in perfect sunny conditions. AF Corse topped the time sheets in the four sessions, three times with Michele Rugolo, who shares the car with Pasin Latohuras, and once with Marco Cioci, who today did coaching work for Ilya Melnikov. This top lap time in session 4 (2’05”288) was the day’s best. Melnikov’s car preceded Rugolo and the sister car of Raffaele Giammaria who shares duties with Ezequiel Pérez-Companc, the current Ferrari Challenge Europe champion and the youngest racer from the well-known Argentine racing dynasty.
Portuguese gentlemen pair Guedes-Barreiros (also with AF Corse) took fourth-fastest ahead of country-fellows Ramos-Parente, the duo of the Teo Martín Motorsport McLaren 650S. Kessel Racing made its return to the GT Open with three Ferraris F458, including one GT3 for Fausti-Bo.
The track also welcomed for this testing day four Seat León Eurocup machines belonging to Baporo Motorsport and Motorsport Development. Testing will continue tomorrow morning and end with a 60-minute race in the afternoon.
