The driver from Barcelona, aged 17, set the fastest time during two-day collective testing of GP3 Series at Circuit de Valencia. He finished 3rd in the Euroformula Open last year
The Euroformula Open continues proving that, each and every year, is a key step towards the pinnacle of motorsport, acquiring the necessary skills in order to achieve success in today´s ultra-competitive motorsport world.
A good example of this is Alex Palou, who ranked 3rd in the Euroformula Open last year, and with only a year of experience in Formula 3, has managed to finish on top during this week´s GP3 collective testing against drivers even having GP2 seasons under their belts. It is important to highlight that Palou, who claimed three race wins in 2014, has set a lap time of 1:20.880, ahead of Marvin Kirchhöfer and Esteban Ocón, the latter who was the FIA European F.3 Championship champion beating, among others, Max Verstappen, now a F.1 driver at Toro Rosso.
Close competitiveness racing with top teams and drivers and the best tracks across Europe are key factors for such a rapid learning period.
