Torna in pista questo fine settimana il Campionato italiano GT, quest’anno particolarmente competitivo. La terza prova della stagione si disputerà sull’Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari a Imola e conterà nuovamente con quasi 40 iscritti.
Joel Camathias sarà al via al volante della Porsche 911R dell’Autorlando Sport col connazionale Mauro Calamia. La coppia elvetica, dopo i bei piazzamenti conseguiti a Monza, tenterà di ripetersi, nonostante l’agguerrita concorrenza, sfruttando anche il lavoro di messa a punto già svolto a Imola in occasione dell’ECC.
Joel Camathias:
“Riprende l’Italiano GT, che quest’anno è davvero una delle serie più qualificate d’Europa, e sarà di nuovo gran battaglia, visto l’alto numero di iscritti. Imola è una pista che piace sempre e che esalta qualsiasi pilota. Speriamo di far bene, anche se dovremo misurarci con vetture ed equipaggi di primissimo livello, e di migliorare i buoni risultati ottenuti a Monza. Ci tornerà utile l’aver già corso a Imola quest’anno, nell’Endurance Champions Cup, dove peraltro ci eravamo imposti. I dati raccolti dovrebbero permetterci di trovare più velocemente l’assetto giusto e guadagnare tempo prezioso. Ma certamente sarà un weekend combattutissimo!”

Camathias ready to battle at Imola in the Italian GT
The Italian GT Championship, this year one of the most competitive series in Europe, is back on track this weekend. The third round of the season takes place on the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola and will attract again nearly 40 entrants.
Joel Camathias will be at the wheel of the Porsche 911R by Autorlando Sport together with country-fellow Mauro Calamia. The Swiss pair, following the good results at Monza, aims at repeating itself, despite the fierce competition, and will benefit from the set-up work done at Imola earlier this year during the ECC event.
Joel Camathias:
“The Italian Gt is back; this year, it is really one of the top series in Europe, and we can predict another big battle, given the number of entries. Imola is a track that any driver likes. We hope to do well, even if we will have to face very strong cars and pairs, and to improve the good results obtained in Monza. Having already raced at Imola this year should be helpful. It was some weeks ago, in the ECC, and we won. The data gathered should help us finding quicker a good set-up, which should entail a useful gain of time. But no doubt that it will be a closely-fought weekend!”
