Rolex has been named as Title Sponsor of the fifth round of the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), the Rolex 6 Hours of São Paulo.
The Rolex 6 Hours of São Paulo will take place on 14 July 2024 and is the only race on the WEC calendar in South America. The return of WEC to the iconic Interlagos Circuit this year will mark ten years since the championship last competed in Brazil.
Rolex has a long-standing affinity with motor racing dating back to the 1930s, when Sir Malcolm Campbell set multiple World Land Speed Records while wearing a Rolex Oyster. This association embodies the Swiss watchmaker’s continued commitment to precision engineering, human endeavour and dedication around the clock.
As the Official Timepiece of WEC since 2016, Rolex forms an integral part of the endurance racing landscape. This partnership extends to the championship’s flagship event, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which Rolex has supported since 2001.
South America is a key market for the 14 manufacturers competing in the upcoming WEC season and has a rich motorsport heritage. Furthermore, given the past success of WEC races in 2012 and 2014, this year’s Rolex 6 Hours of São Paulo will be a welcome addition for teams and fans alike.
Tickets for the 2024 Rolex 6 Hours of São Paulo are now available for purchase. For additional details, kindly visit the WEC website at www.fiawec.com
Frédéric Lequien, CEO of the FIA World Endurance Championship: “We are delighted that our long-term relationship with Rolex continues to go from strength to strength. The prestigious brand has been synonymous with the WEC since 2016 and as the championship makes its return to South America, I can’t think of a better brand to join us on this journey. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Rolex for its unwavering support and belief in the FIA WEC.”
