The FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy has agreed to a multi-year partnership with worldwide shipping, logistics and marine services provider, GAC.

The new partnership will see World RX, which is run and promoted by IMG, use GAC to oversee all of the Championship’s logistic requirements on an ongoing basis.

The company, which employs more than 10,000 people across 300 offices, is perfectly placed to manage logistics in World RX, which stages 13 events on four continents: Europe, Asia, North America and South America.

GAC’s global air-freight capability delivers cargo around the world and the company’s unrivalled contacts in worldwide logistics will open up opportunities for the transportation of World RX Supercars as the FIA’s newest World Championship looks to move away from sea-freight. This will be seen for the first time when the Supercars are transported via air freight between the Norwegian and Canadian RX races this summer.

Dominic Watson, Operations Manager for GAC, commented: “For GAC, working as official logistics provider to World RX represents a major step forward into the world of motorsport. We see a lot of similarities between the increasing popularity and growth of the World RX and GAC’s expansion into specialist logistics: both require a lot of skill, preparation and passion in order to make races the best they can be.”

Martin Anayi, Managing Director for World RX at IMG, added: “We are delighted to partner with GAC in what will be another vital step in making World RX an even bigger global operation. GAC is not only a hugely influential brand to have on board, but their expertise in the area of worldwide logistics is second to none. The ability to use air freight for our overseas races opens up a host of exciting opportunities for World RX and we look forward to working with GAC to help make the sport an even bigger success in our international markets.”
