Italian driver vows to continue fighting for the series lead in the Sport and Touring Cars Championship. The next round takes place at Snetterton, the motor racing course in Norfolk.
Luca Demarchi´s race win at Donington Park on 25 July, which represented a historic milestone for the diesel-Dual Fuel by Ecomotive Solutions hybrid car entered by Saxon Motorsport, gave fresh impetus to everyone in the team. Demarchi now eyes to keep fighting for the championship lead again.
The British Sports and Touring Cars visits Snetterton, in Norfolk, for its third round of the season. The series use the Snetterton 300 layout, which is 3 miles long.
“I had the opportunity to have my first taste of Snetterton two months ago”, Demarchi says, “but it was the 200 layout. So I need to learn a section of the track, one of the most demanding ones at Snetterton, as it´s the infield. At least, we already have a fairly clear idea of what needs to be done from a set-up point of view. So we will not start from the scratch on Saturday´s test session. It was at Snetterton where we introduced changes to the aero package and engine before Donington Park”.
“We expected”, the Italian driver continues explaining, “to add other major improvements for this round, but unfortunately it wasn´t possible. Autogas Italia has been working actively but I am thoroughly convinced that they will be ready for Silverstone next September and improving our performance”.
On Saturday, Luca will hit the track for the very first time in free practice. Both qualifying and race will take place on Sunday.
