Positive test leaves Vierge and Vinales excited for 2016

Test-Vinales-Spain-Valencia-2015-1

Tech3 Racing Team rider Xavi Vierge concluded the last track appearance of 2015 ahead of the winter test ban, with a firm run to 10th today at the Ricardo Tormo circuit. After completing the Jerez outing last week, Vierge continued his pre season work and ran 156 laps in the two day test at Valencia, the scene of his double victory in the CEV Moto2 championship last weekend. The 18 year old mainly focused on the new KYB suspension, which the Tech3 team will use in 2016, and he thoroughly tested various different aspects with the outcome being positive. The Spaniard will now look to carry on making further progress in the new year when the testing resumes.

Meanwhile, Moto2 rookie Isaac Vinales made steps forward in his second appearance on the Mistral 610 as he became more accustomed to the intermediate class as well as the Tech3 Racing Team’s self designed and built bike. The young Spaniard finished the opening day with a best time of 1’37.683 but lowered his lap time by over half a second on day 2, marking some solid progress as he adapted his riding style. Vinales now confidently looks forward to the next test outing where his preparation for his debut season in the Moto2 class will continue.

Vierge - 2015

Xavi Vierge – 10th – 1’35.893 – 156 laps

“I am very happy with the work that we have undertaken during these two days of testing at Valencia and we can leave the circuit feeling positive and excited for next season. The Tech3 team worked really hard and we sampled a lot of new settings in preparation for the upcoming year. However, now it’s time to recharge the batteries so that we can start the 2016 season on fire and be strong as soon as the wheels turn. I’m already looking forward to jumping back on the bike and I must say thank you very much to the sponsors and all of the team for their great efforts in 2015, and I aim to go one step further next year.”

Vinales - 2015Isaac Vinales – 12th – 1’37.140 – 122 laps

“Overall I am quite satisfied with how the two day test went for me in Valencia and I am excited about what lies ahead with the Tech3 Racing Team. I rode the Mistral 610 for the first time at the Jerez test last week and my first impressions were positive. We continued our work here and we know exactly what we have to do to improve. It’s costing me a bit of time to adapt to the Moto2 class, but I realise that I must work hard during the winter months in order to be in a better physical shape as it’s more demanding in the intermediate class. I’m happy with the work that the team undertook and I am certain that we can have a strong season together. I look forward to working hard over the winter so that I can be ready for 2016.”
