WEC, 6 HOURS OF SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS: HIGH EXPECTATIONS AT THE ISOTTA FRASCHINI DUQUEINE BOX FOR THE THIRD EVENT OF THE 2024 SEASON


The eventful Belgian weekend opened with two free practices sessions, one at 11.30 am and one at 5.30 pm of Thursday, May 9. Two dry practice sessions, 32 laps completed in FP1 and 30 in FP2 for the team born from the synergy between the prestigious Italian manufacturer and the famous French company.

Tomorrow, Saturday, May 11, Team Isotta Fraschini Duqueine will return to the track with the Type 6 LMH number 11.

A good performance, confirming the expectations for what promises to be an exciting race. Today the last free practice session will be followed by the qualifying round which will determine the grid for the 6 Hours of tomorrow at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, the third event of the 2024 WEC – World Endurance Championship season.

Behind the wheel of the Isotta Fraschini, the close-knit team composed of Jean-Karl Vernay, Antonio Serravalle, and Carl Wattana Bennett will take turns.

Carl Wattana Bennett: “The free practice sessions represented my first time with the Isotta Fraschini Hypercar at Spa. The track is spectacular, and I’ve adapted to the incredible high-speed corners. My goal now is to improve my performance to give my best on the track tomorrow.”

Antonio Serravalle: “It’s my first time on this incredible circuit, and it’s fantastic. I’m studying the track as much as possible to be fully prepared and feel as comfortable as possible during tomorrow’s race.”

Gilles Duqueine (President and founder of Duqueine): “We have made a lot of progress in these practice sessions, but it is important for all of us to take further steps forward this weekend at Spa. This is a track that demands the utmost, so we must harness all the power and capability of this car. We expect a lot from this weekend.”

Adrenaline is rising in the Isotta Fraschini Duqueine box in anticipation of what will be the springboard race for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Expectations are heightened thanks to the partnership signed with Motul.
